1000 Mile Highway were formed in early 2009 and quickly put together a set of American roots music, country and country rock that immediately won them a massive fan base which now numbers in the 10's!! Since then, the band have played many festivals including Wilderness, Cornbury, Riverside, The Skittle Alley Weekender, Nor Lye and Witney Music Festival. We have also played gigs across Oxfordshire in pubs and clubs, including spots at Fat Lil's in Witney and the main Oxfordshire venues.

Towards the end of 2018 Ian Hall left to join Oxford band The Factory Lights. We began rehearsing new material and thinking about a replacement; almost immediately we were joined in January 2019 by the excellent Jessica Marshall on fiddle. We have now played a number of gigs with the new line-up and are happy to say it has been very well received.

We were delighted to be included in the line-up for Wilderness 2019, not least because that meant we have performed at every Wilderness Festival! We played in a large yurt on the opening day of the Festival; the three vocalists did some busking, and as a result of that we were asked to play the Extinction Rebellion stage on Sunday. We were than asked to play at the Central London XR event in October but sadly the stage was seized by the police!

We are still making plans for 2020 but iIn the meantime you can check out our music on this site.

Recent & Forthcoming Gigs

It's the dead of winter lull for us but we have plans for new gigs in 2020. The first of these will be another Sunday lunchtime session in the Rose & Crown, Charlbury on Sunday 19th January from 13.00.

As we now have our own PA we can play venues that are not equipped. So if you would like to book a lively and accomplished band for your event, get in touch - we love to play live!
